Problem with Windows Media Player 10

Alright i gotta ton of videos, all of which are high quality avi or mpeg-4. they never gave me any problems until the last week. i have only changed 2 things however. one being video cards, the other being a video game that automatically optomises shaders without a way to stop them from optimising. (game being EA's Battlefield 2). so i did a system restore and i reinstalled the drivers then restarted in safe mode. they worked but then when i ran the game again the vidoes screwed up again. someone pls tell me if this is a driver setting or a game problem.

as this is not my first time in this website posting for help, here are my system specs:

Asus K8V
AMD Athlon 64 3200+
1.5 Gb DDR-3200 Kingston Hyper-X ram
nVidia 6800 GT 254 8x AGP
Audigy 2 Value
16x DVD-rw, 160 Mb HD, 48x CD-rw
600watt Power

I promise I'm not a power user, lol....any help would be appreciated guys

ok as an update to the problem, i can view the video in safe mode with no problems whatsoever. however not in safe mode i get the same problem, too much gamma and overall poor video quality. pls lemme know what needs to be fixed.

 

What Nvidia drivers are you using.. I had similar issues. I was using 77.72. removed those and installed 71.84. All is good again..
