Can I change burner software?

I have a computer that came with a TDK burner that has Nero software bundled. Could I change to a different software, such as ECDC, and keep the TDK burner? Now, don't jump on me, Nero fans--I'm just wondering. Fact is, the Nero 5.5 I have doesn't support burning a CD slide show for use on a DVD player that I can watch on tv, according to the Nero FAQ. The ECDC Basic 5.0 that was on my old computer does support this.

 

Yes, you can use other burning software with that drive. If the ECDC software was packaged with another drive as part of an OEM package, it may not work.
