Is there a free program like NetNanny that's popular these days?

There isn't a great deal of free Internet filtering software.

If she has Internet Explorer, try the "Content Advisor" in Tools, Internet Options, then the Content Tab.

Try SafeScreen you can download it from www.pixalert.com not a filter as such but blocks porn from the screen.
