CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Scared-stiff astronomers have detected a mysterious mass they've dubbed a "choas cloud" that dissolves everything in its path, including comets, asteroids, planets and entire stars -- and it's headed directly toward Earth!

Discovered April 6 by NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory, the swirling, 10 million-mile- wide cosmic dust cloud has been likened to an "acid nebula" and is hurtling toward us at close to the speed of light -- making its estimated time of arrival 9:15 a.m. EDT on June 1, 2014.

"The good news is that this finding confirms several cutting- edge ideas in theoretical physics," announced Dr. Albert Sherwinski, a Cambridge based astrophysicist with close ties to NASA.

"The bad news is that the total annihilation of our solar system is imminent."

Experts believe the choas cloud is composed of particles spawned near the event horizon of a black hole (a form of what's called Hawking Radiation) that have been distorted by mangled information spewed from the hole.

"A super-massive black hole lies about 28,000 light-years from Earth at the center of our galaxy," explained Dr. Sherwinski.

"Last year the eminent physicist Stephen Hawking revised his theory of black holes -- which previously held that nothing could escape the hole's powerful gravitational field. He demonstrated that information about objects that have been sucked in can be emitted in mangled form.

"It now appears that mangled information can distort matter.

"Just imagine our galaxy the Milky Way as a beautiful, handwritten letter.

"Now imagine pouring a glass of water on the paper and watching the words dissolve as the stain spreads. That's what the choas cloud does to every star or planet it encounters."

To avoid widespread panic, NASA has declined to make the alarming discovery public. But Dr. Sherwinski's contacts at the agency's Chandra X-ray Observatory leaked to him striking images of the newly discovered choas cloud obliterating a large asteroid.

"It's like watching a helpless hog being dissolved in a vat of acid," one NASA scientist told Dr. Sherwinski.

    Ordinarily, Hawkings Radiation is harmless.

"It's produced when an electron- positron pair are at the event horizon of a black hole," Dr. Sherwinski explained. "The intense curvature of space-time of the hole can cause the positron to fall in, while the electron escapes."

But when "infected" by mangled information from the black hole, the particles become a choas cloud, which in turn mangles everything it touches.

"If it continues unchecked, the choas cloud will eventually reduce our galaxy to the state of absolute choas that existed before the birth of the universe," the astrophysicist warned.

Some scientists say mankind's best hope would be to build a "space ark" and hightail it to the Andromeda Galaxy, 2.1 million light-years away.

"We wouldn't be able to save the entire human population, but perhaps the best and the brightest," observed British rocket scientist Dr. David Hall, when asked about the feasibility of such a project.

But even if such a craft could be built in time, evacuating Earth might prove fruitless if theories about the origin of the choas cloud are correct.

"A black hole at the center of Andromeda is about 15 times the size of the one in our own galaxy," Dr. Sherwinski noted. "It might be like jumping out of the frying pan into the fire."

Speaking under the condition of anonymity, a senior White House official said the president's top science advisors are taking the findings in stride.

"This is a lot like global warming, where the jury is still out on whether it's real or not," said the official.

"The existence of this so called choas cloud is only a theory. Americans shouldn't panic until all the facts are in."

So i don't knows if this thing is a hoax or what ..... maybe somebody here can tell me ????

2012 is actually when the Mayan calendar ended, supposedly signifying the end of the world as we know it. I haven't researched the Mayan culture enough to know if they just got bored and stopped writing out the dates or if in fact that actually believed the end was then. Too bad their end was much, much sooner than that as their calendar was insanely accurate. There could have been a lot to learn from them.

This is very interesting, I've seen 2 shows about Mayan history, a lot of their predictions have come true. (kind of scary) Supposedly, they learned of these things by looking at the stars etc. at night. (astrology)
One of these shows,(which I saw a couple of years ago) states that they claim the end of the world will be on December 23rd 2012.
The other show I saw within the last 4 months states they claim the end of the world will be December 21st 2012 (yes, I did mark these on my calendar)
Both shows state though that "something will fall from the sky" That's what's going to kill us.
Oddly enough, when the last Pope died a lot of religions felt that that the Book of Revelations predictions were going to start happening. The seven year battle between good and evil, ending in 2012.
I dunno but there seems to be a lot of talk about the world ending in 2012, could be that there is something to it and I don't know if I wanna be around to find out!

Of course, there isn't anything backing it up either.

I don't remember exactly how it went but I do remember when the past Pope was in his last days, some of the religious people around here were saying that from the period from when he dies, and before they elect a new Pope, that that would be the time Revelations start, supposedly a star shining endlessly over somewhere (the first sign), good people would just vanish, etc.
Seems to me they took that book 'Left Behind' too seriously.
Now, since this stuff didn't happen, they say that there will be a bad Pope (the first sign) but he won't be there too long, followed by a good Pope, and when this good Pope dies, Revelations will begin.
I'm not a religious person so this stuff I find interesting but I find it hard to believe.
Nostradamis predicted the world would end in 1999, but we're all still here!
Though, Like I said, those Mayan people did predict a lot more things that came true, and were more accurate than Nostradamis' predictions.
It does give some of us something to think about! ;)

If that passes by without incident, then we'll see what the new prediction for the end of the world is! ;)

Should be in the year 2525 according to a song by Zager and Evans years ago. I don't put any faith in songs such as this. But if Charlie Daniels or Hank Williams Jr. put out such a song, I might give it more thought and belief. ;)

I really don't care when the world ends because I think when it happens it will be inevitable and we'll just have to accept it... If it doesn't happen in our lifetime it will happen in our children's or grandchildren's lifetime so we need to stop living in denial that it's not going to affect us or the people we love...

Funny though how we use the word "world" to signify everything as we know it in reality when in the bigger picture it's just a tiny planet in the whole solar system

Why do you think it will end so soon? Nothing happening now, or recently, has been anything fantastic to suggest such things. Well, other than the fact that Humankind became smart(?) enough to read into weather events and as such, determined that the sky is falling ;)

Well, viewed objectively, there are fewer (percentage-wise) deaths due to war than there were 50 years ago, 100 years ago, etc etc. Every generation looks at the world around them and thinks "Man, this sucks, surely things haven't always been this bad, the world must be coming to an end!" This is how religions have managed to persist for thousands of years telling people "okay, it's coming any day now, promise, be prepared!" Each generation laps it up and lives in fear of the "end times", which never come, and things actually get better.

As far as the Mayans go, that is pretty interesting, but you'd think that if they were able to get all that information from the stars, they'd have figured out a way to, you know, not get obliterated. In other words, their calendar should have ended a long, long time ago :p

Well.....haha, I find a lot of those shows about predictions interesting, some can give one something to think about, though to others it's utter nonsense!
I just feel with all the terrorists out there, nuclear bombs etc, there is a possibility of a lot of countries getting wiped out. I doubt it will happen in our lifetimes, but it just seems like things are getting worse-not better.

She told me one time when she got her paycheck the check # had 3 6's and he absolutely refused to let her cash the check..he insisted her employer issue her a new check..they did.

Speculation on the date the world as we know it will end has been going on since man learned to write even in primitive cultures. BOSH. It`ll end when it ends and no amount of prognostication`ll ever make me feel otherwise. Just because something is written in a book or a magazine or so-called "scientific" paper doesn`t mean it`s etched in stone. Like the Bible. Koran, or any other theological writing...what`s written was written by man, interpreted by man, and not necessarily proven by man.

did anyone catch that show on The History channel the other night Decoding The Past: Bible Code II... extremely interesting!!!

it was analyzing different matrix's found in the Torrah... ones that spell out phrases from past and recent tragedies we have exeperienced... pretty freaky stuff...

what i found interesting is that there is a matrix in there that refers to the year 2012, with words such as end of days and meteor... but they also said there is a matrix with phrases implying that there will be a meteor in 2012 but it will be destroyed by a missile... regardless of those contradicting ideas, does anyone else find it interesting that the Torrah has a theoretical/scientific code for 2012 being the end of the world as well as the Mayan calendar stopping at 2012... coincidence or what?

this show was an hour long and VERY interesting... i was going to post about it but i can't seem to find out when it will re-air...

To put it this way - anyone who says the world will end , and has put a date on it, you can take it as a given that it false. Sure the world will 'probably end in the next billion years or two, but we won't be around to see it. Nor will our children, or their children, etc.

For those of you who take note of the Bible, it also states "beware of false prophets". Somewhere (I forget where now), it also states words to the effect that the "end times" have here since the crucifixion.

And to those of you that say things like "look at all the wars, crime, lack of morals, etc." I say what the heck are you Talking about? Wars, crime, hate, immorality have been predominant in humanity all through history. There is no evidence that we are in any more wars or crime that in past eras.

In past centuries, going out in public was probably more dangerous than now, without any police force, and the only laws were that of the Monarch. Wars were also very commonplace, with various kingdoms and empires struggling for power, then as now.

As for Bible codes. Research has found that such 'codes' can be formulated with any large book with a lot of words in it. One could, and some have, made so-called prophesies and messages from titles such as Moby Dick and Treasure Island. (Try it for yourself if you don't believe me.)

Or maybe Long John Silver was a prophet too!.....Aaarrrghh!! :p

  48. ANHEDONIC

did you catch the show Phantom? They mentioned your Moby Dick reference... It's kind of like crop circles... Humans can recreate them but do I believe all crop circles are created by humans? Certainly not (I believe the theory that energy fields cause some of them)... People dismiss other causes of crop circles simply because they know they can be man made.

Anywho, I have no doubt they can use other texts to create a few codes with significance.... But the Torrah (or Bible whatever) has created numerous matrix's of shocking accuracy... That one matrix they mentioned that referred to 9/11 has Bin Laden, Twin Towers, From The Sky, Muslim threat, etc (can't remember 100%)... Another one referenced the Pentagon being attacked as well with phrases such as "secondary target"... The show also made references of the Assasination of the Israel Prime Ministesr in the 1980's.. Somebody actually approached an Israeli official way back when and warned about that it would happen that year, turned out that person was analyzing bible code.

Another thing I found interesting was the fact that the phrases didn't just appear randomly in some of the matrix's... They appeared in semantic order so much so that they could be formed into sentences... Also thought it was interesting analyzing the bible code from scientific/mathematical perspective... Calculating that the accuracy of some of the codes found in various matrix's comes down to a million to one. The addition of dates found in various matrix's makes me even more perplexed...

Do I believe in this stuff 100%? I wouldn't say that. But there are far too many consistencies in the matrix's to dismiss them as coincidental...

I'd say putting a billion year life expectancy on our earth is too generous. Hell aren't we at risk each and every day of a meteor smashing into our planet? I'm of the opinion we could go at any time... Whether it be from nuclear holocast, meteor, disease, or whatever...
