blurred monitor

I just bought a second hand monitor. It is 17" and did not come with any drivers. The problem is that the closer you get to the center the more blurred everything becomes, but the sides are perfectly clear. It is not nearly to the point that you cant read things in the center, just a slight annoyance. I am running XP with a P4 3.0GHz with 512 ram.

 

Welcome to the forum this is a common problem in the computer world its quite a technical procedure to undertake you have to first find a special abrasive material called a cloth and a specialised chemical called cleaner,apply some of the cleaner to the screen then take the cloth and with a circular motion rub the screen

the cause is often from people tapping the screen with thier finger and saying "look at this" 'tap' 'tap' 'tap'

Only playing have you tried a degause "crt" or downloading the drivers for it?

 

If you tool with the monitor settings(buttons on the front onthe monitor) there may be a setting to increase its sharpness

 

or you could throw it out the window for fun like i did my old CTX CRT monitor after the right hand side of the image turned into a roller and the image went far off into the distance whilst making a hight pitch "shrieking" sound, "ta taa" i said as it hurtled to the ground , and i swear i saw it shed a tear as it crumbled upon impact with the concrete below ; giving it the middle finger as i made my way to pc world to purchase a beautiful TFT with a discount courtesy of my long friend who coincidently works there
