Default Looking to upgrade Videocard

Hey all,

I am looking to upgrade my video card on one or both of my computers. The only game I play is Everquest. The one computer has a 64mb video card and is in deperate need of upgrade. I hesitate going to my local computer store because I don't always get the answer I am looking for from them.

System:

P4 2.0 Ghz
P4 S333-M Motherboard
768mb ram
Samsung SP4002H harddrive
ATI 7000 64MB TVO video card

I am looking for a good video card for this system. I don't mind paying a little extra for a good card that will help my games run a little smoother.

2nd system

P4 2.8Ghz
P4 S800MB motherboard
512 mb ram
Maxtor 6Y080LO hard drive
GeForce 4200 128mb 8x video card

This system runs rather well but if I could find a suitable 256 card for a reasonable price I might upgrade.

I know basically nothing about video cards. I can buy one and install it myself but there are so many options out there I want to buy the right one the first time.

Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Here is a video that would complete your gaming purposes and hopefully its not to expensive.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130220

Should be compatible with both systems as long as they have AGP.

A 6600 GT (make sure it's a GT) for the first system, but for the second, probably a 6800.

Don't get any card that says SE or LE as they are cut down versions, and usually underpowered.

Also, both systems would benefit from extra RAM.

If you only play EQ then i doubt you'll even need sumthing as powerful as a 6600gt, definitely not a 6800. EQ is pretty old so u could probably settle for a normal 6600 or a 5 series card for real cheap. I have a 5200 (for now) and with 512 system RAM could run EQ2 just fine which looks like a billion times better.

A couple of experienced members here have remarked that EQ uses up to 2GB of RAM in ideal circumstances.

I would be looking at 1GB minimum, as well as the video card upgrade off-course.

EQ? Or EQ2?

Just curious.
