I've got an old pen plotter (HP DraftPro) that I'd like to print from AutoCaDD 2004 or MicroStation. Is there any drivers or 3rd party applications that would let me print?

    Alright,

After a little research on this plotter, it seems that the problem I'm having is a communications problem. Is anyone familar with this type/age plotter? This is the HP DraftPro (7570A). I've seen one possible problem as it needs a reverse modem cable? (25 pin male at plotter to 9 pin femle at computer)

When I try to initialize the COM port, I get "Device on COM1 is not available" I get the same thing when I try COM2 as well.

I'm using Win2000 Pro, and pulling up the C: prompt to enter this.

What you need is a 9 pin to 25 pin Serial cable, not a "Modem" cable. You can get the cable at any Radio Shack or Best Buy, or local computer store. DB9F to DB25M are a common cable.

What about an adaptor that goes from 25 pin to 9 pin?

Adapters you can get from Radio Shack also, or just order it from online places like NewEgg or Bestbuy.com, TigerDirect. Just make sure that it is a Serial adapter, and not a M-F Parallel gender changer.
