TCP/IP Not Installed?

I get this message that the tcp/ip is not installed but when i go check to see if it is installed in my network connection and it says that it is installed. i dont understand. It wont let uninstall tcp/ip so i can try to reinstall it. I am running on windows xp im running off a lan. Is there anyway to fix this problem. Becuase it is really starting to make me mad.

 

uninstall your network card (drivers) and reboot. TCP/IP should reinstall when xp detects the hardware. If that fails, then uninstall the drivers and remove the card phsyically from the system, and then put it back it and then reboot.

 

ok i uninstalled it that did not work i took my computer apart and found out that i dont have a network card the ethernet jack and it is soldered right to the mother board. so what do i do now?

 

Might be that you need to log to the Motherbaord BIOS and enable the On-Board Network Card.

Once the Network Card is On, you would need to install the drivers, and then WinXP would automatically install the Network (TCP/IP).

What kind of message do you get about tcp/ip? I've seen Norton and other security programs bring up those types of messages when the winsock is corrupt. If you have SP 2 for Windows xp, try "netsh winsock reset" from a command prompt, and rebooting.
