What Handheld fits my needs?

I'm planning on hitchiking across the US this summer. I want to keep a blog while doing so, and possibly sell an article to some newspapers to fund the journey.

Anyway, I don't want to try to keep my laptop intact for the trip, so I'm looking for a PDA or handheld. Here are the features I want:

• Rugged
• Wi-Fi (so I can upload to blog and send/check e-mail)
• GPS would be nice
• full-size portable keyboard (something that folds down, preferably)
• MP3 compatability would be nice so I can listen to tunes while walking or camping
• USB ports so I can use my jumpdrive to store documents on

Any specific recommendations? Money is an issue, I can't do much over 500$.
