I've built one PC before, and added/changed cards & drives before, but this time I'm stumped. New case (350w powersupply), new motherboard (Intel D845GERG2) with CPU (P4) and RAM (512mb), CD-R and hard drive.

With everything hooked up, I get nothing on the monitor (using onboard video), although the fans and drives spin.

CD-R and HD are each on their own IDE cable.

I've tried 3 monitors, same result.

    2 video cards, same result.

My dad just built his system with the exact same MB/CPU combo with a 350w PS, and has had no problems.

Could it be something as simple as needing a new BIOS battery?

Check the ram. Try it in different slots and make sure its set good.
