AOL IM help

IM Version 5.0.2938
how do you keep others from knowing how long you have been Idle? i rather not have people know when it was the last time i used my compter.
i cant find a setting in the preference to disable it.
im not a AOL subscriber just use their IM

I dont really think thats possible unless you study the AIM protocol and log all packets from AIM out to see how it works and crap...

 

I'm using the same version - go to preferences (F3 key or under the edit options menu) - select the privacy page - after they ask about buddies, etc, there is a choice that allows you to cancel the idle time display.

I thought they have preference options. It been while since I use AIM. Now I use trillan, they have better options and more comfortable with it.

haha... i use gaim too. but most of the time i'm using windows, so i'm on trillian

 

I use gaim on both! There is a gaim for Windows and it gives it that nice *nixy feel

then why dont you run it under *nix in WINE? to unstable?

 

nah. too lazy. not really worth it either.

 

I was gonna write too lazy as an option as well.. lol
