It just keeps dropping, even though I am not doing anything extreme. Even then it shouldn't suck. Because a router is supposed to create more bandwidth to serve all of the things attached to it, right?
I enabled the log and I got this. #Version: 1.5 #Software: Microsoft Windows Firewall #Time Format: Local #Fields: date time action protocol src-ip dst-ip src-port dst-port size tcpflags tcpsyn tcpack tcpwin icmptype icmpcode info path 2006-03-01 17:43:48 DROP UDP NOIPFORYOU - - - - - - - RECEIVE 2006-03-01 17:43:51 DROP UDP NOIPFORYOU - - - - - - - RECEIVE 2006-03-01 17:52:37 DROP UDP NOIPFORYOU - - - - - - - RECEIVE 2006-03-01 17:52:59 DROP UDP NOIPFORYOU - - - - - - - RECEIVE 2006-03-01 17:53:02 DROP UDP NOIPFORYOU- - - - - - - RECEIVE 2006-03-01 18:51:06 DROP TCP NOIPFORYOU - - - RECEIVE 2006-03-01 18:51:06 DROP TCP NOIPFORYOU - - - RECEIVE 2006-03-01 18:51:06 DROP TCP NOIPFORYOU- - - RECEIVE 2006-03-01 18:51:06 DROP TCP NOIPFORYOU - - - RECEIVE 2006-03-01 18:51:09 DROP TCP NOIPFORYOU- - - RECEIVE What the hell is wrong? I have had this problem since Halo came out and I am sick of it. By the way, if you didn't catch on, NOIPFORYOU is where my IP is in the log, I just removed it. I get my Internet from Comcast and they are unreliable to the extent where I want to kick them in the nuts. I could call them, and ask for them to come and fix my Internet, but they will say it isn't needed. Plus they run a remote packet test, but this is dumb because when they are running the tests the connection is obviously up. I also have gotten at least 100 more of these drops over the last four hours, but I will not post them for I do not have the time. I will check this afterschool for some solutions. Thanks. <3 |

Hi Andrew !
Welcome to MG I understand its really iritating when this happens. You said you have router. So i would like to know how many computers have you connected. does this problem occur in all or just one ? Is it a wired connection or a wireless router ? Is it a Gigabit card or what NIC you have ? Have you tried to Delete Winsock and winsock 2 and reinstall TCP/IP ? |

It is connected to an Xbox, a computer downstairs (unused now), and two laptops via wireless connection. It is a 2.4ghz D-Link wireless router. It occurs in all of them, especially the Xbox and the main computer. The laptops do not get it as much, but it is apparent.
I have no idea what a Gigabit card or NIC is, so if you could tell me I could help you out. How do I delete the Winsock and Winsock 2? I might want to try that. <3 |
