Hey, think I could get a safe, mild overclock in there with these temperatures? The ones with CnQ disabled are in the screenshots.

    New-er specs:

    Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe w/ 1103 bios
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+, stock cooling w/ AS ceramique
    XFX 7800GTX OC
    2gb Corsair XMS PC3500 @ 2-3-2-6
    WD Sata 2 HD @ 200gb
    Maxtor Sata 150 HD @300gb w/ 16mb cache
    Antec 550W TruePower PSU

Sure you could, though i dont see why you whould whant to with specs like that ;)...
Maybe try dropping your timings to 2 2 2 6 ? Im a bit fuzzy when it comes to the A64/dual core stuff iv read all i can about it but it never sinks in inless im overclocking a system :D..
Well here for a good read and here for a nice PDG guide to DL ;)....

I was toying around. Went from 2.2ghz, to 2.4ghz, essentially giivn me a 4600+.

Idle time is 46c, and under load, Prime95 (x2), its @53c.

I'm just playing, I don't think anything at this point is going to show much improvement aside from benchmarks. I just wanted to see if I could do it on stock cooling :)

Sure just play with it.. I dont see how you will hurt any thing running stock voltages or maybe just a mild over volt...

usually with stock cooling, you won't get much beyond a 3-400mhz OC (some notable exceptions are certain Mobile CPU's), that is, if you CPU can even REACH that much extra.

If you can get a 2-300 mhz OC, then you have done very well. 400-500 is Awesome. Beyond that is insane. That is where you reach the realm of extreme cooling methods... as your CPU will get HOT HOT HOT (TEC/PhaseChhttp://forum.majorgeeks.com/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=764346

Hey Adrynalyne, what kind of HS came with your CPU?
I got my hand's on one of these, (the AMD Athlon 64 Stock 4 pipe Copper HS) they are sweet:p :

An FYI a Thermalright XP-90 is a great buy at Jab-Tech can get almost identical temps to the AMD copper piper:
    http://jab-tech.com/Thermalright-XP-90-OEM-pr-2921.html

At 2700mhz (up from 2000MHz a 35% OC) right now I'm at 38c, CPU fan speed at 970 rpm, so quiet I could hear a mouse fart;)
I havent seen it go higher than 47c under load, but only lasted a few seconds, then the fan kicked up to 1800 rpm & Knocked the temp down 39-40c ish
