>> jerseydevil What is scripts and script errors? <<
Scripts: Anything on a web page that changes or accepts keyboard input, from a visitor counter to a data entry form or a shopping cart; requires a small program, called a script. These "scripts" are actually computer programming code usually written in relatively simple programming languages and are files that initiate routines - like generating Web pages dynamically - in response to user input. These programs can either be executed on the web site's host computer (server side) or downloaded and run on the visitor's computer (client side). Script Errors: Starting with Internet Explorer 4.0, a programmer can use Internet Explorer's scripting capabilities to add more "functionality" to Web pages. When Internet Explorer is running a script, if there are parts of the script that cannot be run, then they will cause script errors. The specific script error usually contains information about why the error occurred. Related: How to Troubleshoot Script Errors in Internet Explorer |
