NOoB at this.

Right. I have been dying to try and overclock my pc. I have an I P4 3.00. Its a prescott chip which ive heard is good for overcloaking. The first problem Im having is I cannot change the FSB in the Bios or I cannot find where i change. When i open it on booting up, the parts that tell you the info you need seem to be locked and I cannot move onto them nevermind changing them.
THe second problem is, I downloaded ClockGen to try using that. The PLL(ICS954201BR) is not on it, is this cause im wrong or that ClockGen is no good.
Any help I would be great.

That is why.

OEM computers (PC's from guys like Dell, Gateway, HP, Compaq, Packard Bell, etc) have gimped BIOS's that do not allow for overclocking. Even using software overclockers, all you will likely do is damage a vital component, as what you have in there isn't too likely to take the stress of Overclocking too well.

If you wanna overclock... build yer own.... that way, you can plan ahead for how much of an overclock you want.

 

Some motherboard have jumpers that you can alter the FSB with. With my current system my BIOS FSB is locked but I can still change it using the jumpers on the motherboard. However, I'm not sure this will be the case with an OEM system

 

Well how do you know if you have jumpers? Here is a pic of my mobo. Can I do it with this one.
