Okay here is the issue.. a friend got a new Biostar Mobo. He transfered his old AMD 2200 & RAM to it. The system would not post - nothing. We set the clock for 100,133,& 166 - Nothing.
Today I brought in my AMD 2000 and set the clock to 100 & the system was fine.. post - XP loads - great...
My friend could not leave well enough alone so he tried to use his old processor again.. nothing worked, so he tried to put the 2000 back in and now it is nonresponsive (back to start). Tried clearing CMOS, yada yada...
It is a MOBO, CPU & RAM.. no cards (video on board).. what am I missing?
The fans spin up, CD ROM, HDD show activity.. no post beep

Hmm, sounds like your CPU isn't getting any power. Is the 4 pin CPU connector fitted onto the motherboard securely and firmly?

there is no 4 pin connector.

remember ...b4 you say that is the reason... it WAS working...

ps. the clock is still at 100.. I find it hard to believe that swapping a CPU could give so much of an issue... I know the obvious is he blew the CPU during the swap... I don't currently have another mobo to test this with. :(
We also cleared CMOS and retried.. nada.
