Graphic controller compatiable with directx?

I've got an intel(r) 82810E graphic controller in my comp (OS:windows xp) and I keep getting this error when i try to load a game -The game encountered a fatal directx issue while attempting to start. Try a diffrent screen resolution or bit depth. If it doesn't work, try new video drivers. Does anyone know how to fix it or know for sure that my graphics card just wont work with directx or game. (Game is asheron's call just incase it helps solve issue.)
