I got an old P3 that won't boot to the OS or the BIO's...

I tried reseting the CMOS, Changing the PSU, All does is sit there (Well in this case it's an e-machines so it sits at the e-machines screen) It does nothing...Trying to get in the bio's it sits at checking hardware.

Not exactly sure what's going arry with it...Any idea's?

Hmm sounds like either a memory or CPU thats failing. Have you made sure both are seated correctly and firmly? Did this problem occur suddently, or has the compter been sitting lifeless for a year or 2?

Actually it's used everyday, It was off for the night and I went to boot it up and it just started that crap.

What about changing the CMOS battery? Its such a cheap, simple thing to replace that its worthwhile just to eliminate it as a suspect. Most as CR2032s which are available at any electronics shop. The lifespan of these batteries is only 3-5 years, and I'm imagining that it hasn't been changed in that time?

    Hmm good call Mada,

Battery was gone. I swaped it with another battery I had. Booted right up.

I knew it might have had something to do with that.

    Appreciate the help fellas.
