    Hello,

I am running a 6600GT AGP card right now, and i am thinking about upgrading to a 7800GS (256) (AGP) http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1799419&CatId=0

However i don't know if i should spend the money and upgrade my MOBO to a PCI-E and get the PCI-E Version of the card.

How much better do PCI-E's run then AGP?

Also, Are there any deals out there right now (Rebates??) On any good cards, or mobos?

    Thanks for the help!
    Matt
PS. Also, SLI doesn't really doesn't matter, because i don't have the funds for 2 cards.

Is your processor 939? If not it's not really worth upgrading to PCI-E in my opinion.

And SLI doesn't matter as much as people make it out to. You don't need it.

    AGP 8x has a bandwidth of 2.1 GB/s
    PCIe 16x has a bandwidth of 4GB/s

For an upgrade with the future in mind, this may be worthwhile. It won't be long before AGP 8x is painfully outdated.

I would go to pci-e & SLI MB and just run one card then when you find a good deal get another. I have been using SLI since the first SLI board....the first drivers were a pain but now :)

Guys over here always giving away stuff :) we all have up-grade sickness LOL
