Well my buddys computer just had a motherboard crap out on him and he gave me his 80 Gig hard drive since he cant afford to fix or get a new one for a while so i was wondering if there is any special way i should go about installing it on my system. Will it be difficult because his harddrive has its own operating system and all that? Ive already tryed installing it but the computer either doesnt recognize that its there or it does recognize it, starts up windows xp, then freezes about 30 seconds after it starts and then when i restart the computer it says something like "Scanning Devices no drives present" hahaha im totally jackin myself over or what?

What you need to do is set the drive to slave, and install. You will not be able to run your computer off the new harddrive, because XP keys itself to the system it is installed in and too many changes will cause a BSOD. So with it set as slave boot to your drive, then copy all his music or what ever else you want then format the drive, and use it as a media drive.

There are usualy directions on the drive about how to set it to slave. You may have to set your drive to master if it is on CS.
