as ive found out, dont skimp on the power supply, get a good brand high wattage one. Yes they cost significantly more money but at least you wont have to pay for replacement parts when it dies and takes out your CPU and mobo ;) The PSU is one area you cant afford to go cheap on, and a DFI mobo requires a significant amount of quality power

Yes get atleast a 550w or more power supply to run that killer machine.

500 wats is cool ,but if he wants a 7900GTX 512mb one day,he would be betta off with 550 :)

yea i guess it would be a good idea. lol i totally spaced about him having a DFI mobo so I'll have to agree with you on the 550 watt psu. The minimum for those boards is sumthin like 480 watts.

Dump the coolermaster centurion its a very poor cooling solution not designed for a gaming machine and yeh get a good quality psu of about 500w skimping here is just asking for trouble, everything else looks good :)

    Couple things
DFI MOBO are Power Hungry, you need to get a Good quality PSU, Better quadruple your budget.
That generic one is a Big mistake.
I have a DFI Ultra D NF4, I use OCZ 520Powerstream, I would suggest you get a PSU that sports about 33amp on the +12v rails

I like Maxtor HDD but for some reason many DFI mobo have big problem with Maxtor's, I 'm using Seagate's

Your memory is good choice, if your planing on OCing ya might consider PC4000 or more

TT makes OK cases, they aren't the best though.

I'll take a good Antec case over TT any day.

I am looking at a Cooler Master Real Power 550W Power Supply.
    Is this one good?

I agree strongly with the notion of buying a good power supply - I blew a P4
board with a cheap one . . . grrr. I've not used Coolermaster PS's but I haven't heard anything bad about them. I bought an Aspire 600W supply because the price and features were right, it was recommended by a friend, and I found good comments about them on the internet. I've used it for over a year under heavy operations without a hitch. Antec
supplies are good as well (have one of those in my other PC). If you are able get online and do a Google search on the PS you are looking at. See what the forums and such have to say about it.
I also suggest getting a UPS with Automatic Voltage Regulation. . . they aren't that expensive if you don't go after long battery life. They really help protect your entire system by providing the PS with constant, "clean" electricity. Good Luck!

I'v got a coolermaster realpower 450 wasnt my first choice but I hate waiting for stock to come:) in each psu is different but anyway with the 450 the power lines are way long, its by far not the heaviest of psu's,it doesnt have any manual voltage regulation, the cable could be thicker, but it has strong stable power check selentpc has no problems coping with my OC a64 and 6800gt

One of the most most important aspects though is efficiency when tested ran at an actual 80% and the numbers on the back dont lie they dont use tricks like other manufacturers, all the amps are continuous not 10sec bursts and at operatiing temp not in the north pole so you know what your getting :)

OK. After reading several reviews, I am going with the Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-550 as sewy18 suggested.

I also followed up on the Maxtor harddrive with DFI mobo. Apparently, they don't go well together. Which brand would you recommand?

Also, any good case you would recommand?
