I have an hp laptop model n5420. The problem I have with it is that I can cut it on and it stays on for a minute or two and then cuts off completely. This is with the adapter plugged up to it. What could be wrong with it? Any suggestions are welcome.

What does windows tell you your battery level is at? It's possible your battery is dead. Try removing the battery from your system, plugging in the AC adapter, and turning the computer on, once it's on, turn it back off and install the battery, then try again. That works occasionally
