Cool Can 2 pc's be linked?

Can my two pc's be linked so I can access the both of them through the one monitor? they're both XP.

Most all computer stores sell a device that allows you to use one mouse/one keyboard and one monitor on two puters....just hit the home key to switch back and forth. Can't think of the name ....: :
