Does anyone know of a way to find out the owner of a cell phone if you know their number? I see many sites for reverse lookups for cell phones but they charge almost 100 bucks.

All of the free reverse phone number sites have a fee after you put in the phone number. Anywho.com or whitepages.com or any of that stuff does not work since you have to pay to get a report.

Are there any ACTUAL free ones out there?

Cell phone reverse look ups are generally not free. Why don't you call the number, as you have it, and ask? I'm sure you can be a little creative if needs be....

Hahaha, yeah someone knew my net handle and cell number and would not tell who they were. I knew they were in Texas, but not past that. They refused to give me their identity and kept texting me.

Once Lev was done, they never texted me back roflmao

I've been prank free for many months now :D

My wife is taking a course from a skip tracer...how to disappear in 30 days, and it's just one of the ways he has for finding people.

Doesnt make it any less illegal, or any less shallow.

Okay here is a true story. About 5 years ago, some guy was texting me threatening to do nasty things to me :( . He had the wrong number and name as the messages revealed.
One of my female friends called him up pretending to represent the a popular radio station here. She said that if he could answer 3 questions he would win £1000. She told him that a friend had nominated him for the quiz.
She asked him 3 easy questions and then told him he had won!! ;)
In order to receive the prize, he had to give out his name, address, home telephone number and date of birth.
He fell for it Hook, Line and the rest!
Next I contacted the police with this information AND the same threatening text messages and I never heard from him again :)

Served him right ;) Imagine thinking you have won £1000?? And going out with friends - booking holidays - buying goods etc with expectation of windfall ??
And it never happened! . :D

The only way to do a reverse search for "free" is to use Google.com and type in the cell number like this:
    xxx-xxx-xxxx
    (xxx) xxx xxxx
and so on. Try Yahoo and MSN as well, as their indexes fluctuate and differ slightly.

If you want to pay for results, it is a bit of a risk, so go with a company that offers a refund policy. For example Reverse Phone Detective - has a 56 day guarantee - no results, then get a refund. You can also read the reverse phone review.

    But try Google first.

My carrier's website has a reverse lookup. Don't know if it includes cells or not, but worth looking into yours.
PS: try www.verizon.net-don't know if you have to log on to use it.
