As a request from the woman Im on a mission to find an uber-scary movie. preferably newer, 90s-00s(IMO older horror movies are too cheesy to be taken seriously) Im supposed to have one by tonight, ahh! help keep me outta the doghouse, guys!

Dyamond's right, ''Jeepers Creepers'' is kinda lame.
The ''Grudge 2'' was pretty spooky.

One of the best new scary movies I've seen is called "Pulse"

It's very up to date, 2006 I believe and it's creepy enough to have her get close on the couch. :D

IT would work. Huh...she doesn't want cheesy horror movies, that's too bad. Those are my specialty.

    The Grudge
    The Others
    The Skeleton Key

Shoot...I really can't think of any more that are actually scary. I've been addicted to cheesy horror movies since I was about twelve. :D

"It" was a great movie...but yeah, pretty long. It think it was actually a TV movie.

My girls were dying to see "It". lol...they were 9 and 7 at the time. I got sick of telling them they'd be scared and finally rented it for them or recorded it. They got through about 20 minutes, came upstairs, and didn't watch anymore. That was the last I heard from them about "It".:D

IT - definately :eek (about 3 hrs, depending on the version)

I have the book, but I'm not game to read it - the movie was scary enough

Keep your eyes peeled for a young Seth Green (Richard 'Richie' Tozier - Age 12)

Way back when I was a young lad, The Amityville Horror movies were :eek too

Yup. All the good ones are, IMO. The Shining and Storm of the Century are excellent films, and both are made for TV movies. One of them is two double-sided DVDs, can't offhand remember which one and I'm too lazy to go look. :D

*Obviously I don't mean the original movie version of The Shining with Jack Nicholson, but the later one with Steven Weber. WAY better if you've read the book.

None of what were mentioned were scary to me.

Pulse was entertaining, I did like it. I dont classify it as scary though.

I thought 13 Ghosts was scary. Also the first Grudge and the Ring.

Thirteen Ghosts is good, watched it again the other week, also Ghost Ship is not too bad.

The Ring ( Ringu ) for me would have to be the original Japanese one tho, ok it doesnt have the special effects of the 2003 remake.

Dont get it there is a conspiracy to sell this crap movie, the director just got drunk halfway through and forgot what film he was doing, its a steaming pile of doggy do,make sure you physically hurt the person who recommended it also or give me thier address :banghead

I agree with ALIENS that first sprang to mind if it doesnt scare you its tense BLAIRWITCH PROJECT you love it or hate it I guess I liked it,very scary if you dont question it,beer helps:D MOTHMAN PROPHECIES based on a true story which adds to it,spooky and a good flick

    I'll think of some more:D

It was more creepy than scary I agree. The Grudge was scary. Also I thought Exorcisim of Emily Rose was scary if you can get through the legal scenes.

I tried very hard to understand and/or care about the characters in that movie...and in the end I just gave up. I could see where they were trying to go, but the whole thing just rang false to me and I ended up with a "ho hum, what's next" attitude by the end.

Not that I expected it to have been absolutely real (after all, there is the understood suspension of disbelief when watching movies), it just felt hollow and shallow to me.
