Just curious as to what is your favorite "Game Platform" and your reasons why you think it is best. Youngest son wants to get the WII, and dad not being a "Gamer" doesn't have a clue, he presently has a "GameBoy" & "DSL" with various games that he enjoys.

I voted Wii as its the most fun I had in ages ( not got one but friend has ), ok the gfx are not in the leagues of the PS3 and Xbox360 but gameplay is superb!

Like the others most of my games if I do play are on PC, giving Shadowrun a fair hammering of late.

My 10 year old daughter wants a Wii. Even if I wanted to get her one, apparantly they are still sold out. What a racket these game stations have going. Keep the supply down so you can charge tons of money. rolleyes

I don't play anything other than PC games, so I have no idea.

Not sure where my coworker got this info, but he told me yesterday that the 60GB PS3 was having its price reduced by $100, but that in August there will be an 80GB version (but add that $100 back on the price) starting to be available, and that the 60GB version would be discontinued once they were sold out of them.

How I made my decision last time was by looking at the games available, and wondering if I could live without playing them - and what my friends had at the time (for LAN parties).

The coworker I mentioned above's parents never played video games before, now they play him regularly at Wii Bowling. As long as you have the open space, sturdy floors, ceilings, and walls, I'd say go Wii to get everyone involved. I was sore for about 3 days after playing the Wii the first time - it was a workout ! You may want to go for rechargeable batteries and disable the vibration, if you get a Wii.

*shifty look* I found my Wii on a friday morning in Wal-mart.

That said, I really am enjoying it, despite not having anything but Wii Sports to play. Having nothing to play is entirely the fault of Wal-mart, for being completely out of stock of WiiEvil4.

But yes, it's tons of fun. Even my father, who seriously doesn't like electronics spent a couple hours playing Wii Bowling. It's provided some majorly satisfying experiences, including battling to a draw on Wii Tennis, and finding out that I box better left handed.

Even better, if he doesn't have a GameCube, he can play the entire library on his Wii, as well as having access to the cheap older games on the VC.

No way! lol ::going to walmart tomorrow::

Jeez...I used to be up until 2 in the morning going 'just one more level, one more level'. Kind of reminds me of the arcade here. LOL But yeah, I used to love super mario on regular nintendo. I'd try it on my kids game cube and couldn't figure out the damn 3-D stuff!!! I didn't know where I was going.

Playstation hardware kicks, got my vote. Glad the old Nintendo went out, it was almost an obsession. Watched the original Mario Brothers, then played it, at a party. Went out the next day and purchased one, haven't bought another gaming system since. Metroid was cool too.

Nintendo isnt actually keeping the supply down... the demand is too great and they are @ max production capacity. for example.... may 07 there were aprox 380,000 WII sold... which is more than all of the 360's and ps3's combined..... i finally just bought one off my buddy since he never plays it.... that and its only 250 compared to the other prices its a steal

Yeah, I'm thinking I may try to get a used one off of Amazon maybe. It may be true that they sell more of those than the others, but I'm still not sure they don't keep the supply down on purpose.

My son has most of the games consuls.PS2, PS3, XBox, PSP, Nintendo DS. I don't play them to often as i found the games got harder once Sony moved on from the PS1

But last Thursday we bought the Nintendo Wii and for me, this is better than the rest. Its great fun and you get a workout at the same time. I played boxing with my son and after the game was finished, i was shattered :D

Nintendo is always fun, and with a Wii, you can pick up the entire GC catalogue to play, as well as three generations prior to that.

I went into the game store yesterday and asked about Wii...they were out, of course. But the guy told me to call today cause they were supposed to maybe get them in. I called and they had gotten them in. Luckily, I said something about coming in tonight and the guy says if I wait until tonight they won't be there. :( So I ran over when I got off the phone and they only had 3 left. Jeez!

Anyway, I now have a kid present taken care of for Christmas. yay!

Is it bad that I wanna take it out and try it? :D

Personally? The I say you should go for a Dreamcast, if you can find one.

No game system in the history of game systems has a better ratio of good games to crap. 95% of every game I ever played on the DC was worthy of the money and time I spent on it.

Add to that the fact that it supports emulation without hardware upgrades, and that ROMs are readily available (and free!), and you've got yourself one powerfully great system.

Good titles include Seaman, Jet Grind Radio, Bangai-Oh, Skies of Arcadia, Crazy Taxi, DOA 2, Power Stone, Marvel Vs. Capcom, And, you know, pretty much everything else ever made for the sucker.

Hey, you have to plug it all in to make sure it works. What a horrible thing to give them a system that doesn't work.

Oh, never heard of DreamCast? Honestly, I'm not suprised. It wasn't exactly a commercial smash, despite the fact that it was easily the best system available at the time.

Also, it was incredibly upgradable. Mine had a HD a zip drive, broadband modem, the linux kit, and a 950cc engine.

Except for the engine, that's all true!

Xbox, more the 360 than the older one.

I just love using it, such a nice user-friendly interface, Microsoft got it right with getting the console out earlier than the PS3 and have benefited from this financially.

The fact that you can stream music, movies and pictures to and from it to a PC is also a brilliant feature and the price is good for what it is.

And also, it was a shame about the Dreamcast, I enjoyed playing that and the little screen on the controller was great too!
