transfer to memory

    does anyone know a solution to a problem i have.

    i have a legal CD to play chess on my laptop, it is copyright protected but at some stage it has become damaged and now takes about 20 min to load(it loads the full program) it works perfectly when finished but what i would like to do is load it into memory, i used Nero 7 it let me do a backup but will not let me load to the computer or another disc i do not want to resort to illegal methods so can anyone assist please????http://bestsmileys.com/signs3/2.gif

    So..you want the application to run from ram, am I hearing you right?

    All of it? Only when playing?

    Because you could use a ram drive, if you felt so inclined, but Im not seeing the point.

    I suppose you could create a virtual CD drive, build an ISO image from the CD, and mount that ISO to the virtual drive.... if the CD is legally owned by you, try contacting the games publisher, present them with your problem, and many publishers will replace the CD for free or a small fee if you mail the original CD back to them and they verify that it's damaged and that you are, in fact, the legitimate owner of said CD.
