    Hello all! :)

I hope I'm posting in the correct place. I have not had much luck downloading software to try here on MajorGeeks today. The first program I tried to download said the setup program was corrupt and to try another copy. I tried two or three more sites and all were the same. Then I tried to download 007 Spy Software and was alerted by my anti-virus program that Trojan Horse PSW Generic4.vsw was on my computer!!! AVG quarantined it. Do I need to do anything else? My son is on punishment and I need to monitor his activities. Any reliable free or shareware that I can try would really be appreciated. Thank you!

P.S. - You might want to remove that one from your Covert Ops list.

What was the first program you were trying to download?

I downloaded this and everything seems ok however there were a few flags. I believe these flags are due to the nature of the application not actual problems however I will report this to the owners.

As BJ mentioned, Covert OP type software will almost always cause bells to ring since these will be detected by antivirus and antispyware programs as potential risks. Any keylogging type program or other type spying program like this will bet detected as a potential problem. Since you are the one downloading the program, you have to allow the program to be downloaded and installed if you with to use it. They are not infected.

    Thank you both! :)

So, "Trojan Horse PSW Generic4.vsw" is NOT a trojan? I don't need to be concerned? Thanks!

No! It's a false positive, as previously stated the majority of these applications flag security programs due to their nature.

bjgarrick - Sorry, some how I missed this. It's been a while, but I think it was KGB Keylogger that gave me that strange message. Since then, I've tried to download other programs or documents and had that same message come up about the file being corrupt and to download another copy. Some things seem to download better if I don't have AVG and Outpost enabled. Thanks again for your help! :)

Okay! As previously stated, due to their nature, most antivirus applications will flag them so it's normal. Also, you know your AV is working like it's supposed to be. :)
