What you do use for AntiSpam?

Thanks for taking the time to read all of this. :)

I'm trying to find a free AntiSpam program that works well with Outlook accessing a POP3 account. I want it to have a user interface and options similar to Norton AntiSpam.

It integrates directly in Outlook, where Spam goes directly into the Norton folder instead of the Inbox, and the user can use a toolbar to identify Spam or legitimate messages, which also automatically moved to the right folder. (I realize that I could also create a rule in Outlook to move mail if the AntiSpam program doesn't do this.)

I've found that the free download on Major Geeks called SpamAware operates in this manner. However, it seems to slow down every computer I've put it on and cause errors. So, I need to find an alternative.

In the Major Geeks recommendations, I downloaded each of the programs on the list. The only one that worked in the way I described above was SpamFighter, but it only has a 30 day free trial. Since I'm trying to find a free program for my parents' computer, I'd really appreciate it if someone has a suggestion of something that might meet my needs.

    • Free
    • Integrates into Outlook 2002 and 2003 (not running in another window)
    • Toolbar to ID Spam and legit messages
    • Moves all Spam to its own folder automatically (nice, but not required)

I appreciate any advice that you can give me. Thanks! :wave

I recommend Spamato. It integrates with Outlook (aswell as other clients).

It does a great job and doesn't take long to get most hits right.

Suggest you try using the Free version Spamcop program [Yes they do have a free version and one the buy!]
Spamcop you will find there is no programming to install

    URL http://www.spamcop.net/

At Spamcop on receipt of your Spam email message , they trace and somehow puts a stop to originators of Spam

Just over a month Spamcop did put an end to my receipt of Spam

Note! Back about a month ago I was receiving about 6 to 10 spam a day

Since then no Spam at all now

Yes I have made a donation to support Spamcop [you can also do the same if you wish?]

Spamcop program is great because it is not a Spam Filtering program

[A Spam Filtering program only identifies spam into a special folder for you, and there it sits?]

Spamfighter!!! It is not a 30 days only. You can keep it for as long as you want. Works full the first 30 days (with the pro version capabilities) and after that, loses some of them and you can keep getting updates and all (this all includes an ad at the botton of the mail you send).

It's counting down the days to the end of the free trial. I'll have to check it out because I guess maybe I misunderstood. Thanks!

I guess you registered your trial, so they will send you a mail sayind that your 30 will be over and asking if you want to pay or keep it in a downgraded (but working) version.
