Try reading or watching documentaries. Many gay people have "known" from when they were young children that they were "different". Much too young to be choosing their lifestyle. If it wasn't so late I'd dig up some links.
I've met a few gay people through my sister, and at a wedding of all places, and some you can tell are gay, and some you can't. Why would a person choose a lifestye that could lead to ridicule and persecution by the ignorant? I voted with the majority.

Gays or not .. we are all human. There are some nice humans and not so nice ones ... if they are gay and not nice, or any thing else and not nice, then I try and avoid them. If they are nice, be it Martian, Clinger, Gay or hetro then I accept them and try and befriend them.

To judge a person on their sexual preferences has always seemed a bit odd to me. Here I am not talking about devious sexual preferences which take advantage or manipulate other people ... but of two people who both consent and agree to what ever makes them happy.

The problem is when somebody immediately assumes somebody is manipulative or bad because of what they do, based on what little they've heard about the practise. Like the idea that all Homsexuals are Pedophiles. People just go by what they hear not bothering with the facts. So instead of realising that it's mostly grey they try to force people to believe it's black and white.

 

Transgender has nothing to do with sexual orientation, when a person is Transgendered that means they feel like they're in the wrong body, as in they want to be the opposite sex, not have sex with the opposite sex.

 

I would have to agree. Not that I think it's right to be highly tollerant, just like it's not right to be highly intollerant. I think that in certain cases intollerance can be important, just like violence or anger, dispite how negative they are. It should always be about moderation. You shouldn't turn away from the bad things in life, at least not always.

 

When I posted this I should have elaborated. It isn't even about true homosexuals rather more of an observation that acceptance opened the door for people to experiment or just go crazy if you will. Such as in those DVDs Girls gone wild. I'll bet most if not all have boy friends or will. It's a money maker also.

I am not able to decide from the posts you have made if you are making a joke about the situation that gay people are in or you are trying to provoke some sort of reaction from certain members.

I am not gay but do not hold any prejudice against those who are.

i am in another group of people who are sometimes looked upon as inferior and although we don't show it in public it can be very hurtful, my handicap is as you could say is self inflicted as the result of a driving accident and the time will come when i will look normal again to the general public but on the inside i am a changed man i have had the chance to live on the other side of the fence and have seen prejudice at first hand, it has made me a more tolerant and understanding human being who would just like to see a world without so much animosity to others, allow people to be who they are don't villi fie them just because they are different.

Can I ask you a question, how do you turn support for those who have a different sexual orientation into opposition of those with a different sexual orientation? I would really like to know because it seems to be popular to somehow twist my posts into somehow being a typical Troll post. I don't know whether to be insulted or laugh or what.

Seriously help me here, I'm trying to find a reason for why you and others might think what you do about my posts and I can't find one.

Actually, they are grouped together with us in the overall scheme of things, and I have a lot of experience with that particualr group on a very personal level. Like it or not, when people talk about the LGBT community, that includes transgendered peoples as well.

Because a lot of MTF transgendered persons (Male to Female) start out doing drag, feeling like they have to be gay males to get along in life before they can realize their true selves, they do get lumped in with the rest of the group.

While it is true that this is really none of anyone's business, what I am about to state is merely to allow a perspective to my words.

I personally fall under a psycobabble term called pansexual. No real preference. I am also part of the Leather Community within the 'gay' community, and therefore have eperience with the Dominant/Submissive parts of life as well (no, it is so not jsut in the bedroom). Beyond that, i have done a lot of work locally with HIV/AIDS groups and have a number of friends whoare positive, so have a lot of info on that particualr subject. I also have someone very near and dear to me who is transitioning from male to female, and have been right there with them from the beginning.

I know in the past, I have been known to get all up in arms about things, but age and wisdom that comes wiht it have allowed me to grow up a lot. I tell you what I tell you to allow you to understand where I am speaking from and why, and to potentially open an avenue for those who are out there and looking for intelligent conversation about something they may not be well educated on.

While i believe in tolerance, I also believe that tolerance should be understood, not just given blindly.

OK, I'll stop now. I generally don't go on like this without a good rant to feul it, but this is emant more to give understanding, not ranting

@ANUPU it is maybe just your style of writing that gives the impression you are being confrontational or it could be that your use of English and that is not intended to offend you many people on here have English as a second or third language and sometimes the point they are making is not always clear.

here you request an answer to a question that no one has accused you of and then you accuse us of twisting your posts in the same sentence it could of course be that i am seeing something in your grammar that was not intended.

please just think how you are going to phrase a sentence so that it is not ambiguous then we are all clear about the message you are trying to convey.

I never said that people who are Transgendered aren't part of the community, just that using Transgender as a synonym for Gay is wrong.

 

I have Aspergers Syndrome, I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before. Anyway my social skills aren't exactly normal and what is considered "Confrontational" might not be exactly clear to me. It's pretty common for me and other people with AS to mistake one expression for another or use it incorrectly. I honestly don't see where I've gone wrong, I've been as clear as I could be since my first post on here, and English is my first and only language.

In this quote you seem to imply that I'm either a Troll or Prejudice, then you seem to go on to imply further that I am Prejudice by talking about how you are not Gay, this seems to me to be some sort of fatherly talk about how Prejudice is wrong or something.

As I've said, I've tried to be as clear as possible but that just doesn't seem to help.

If they believe they found their soul mate in someone of the same sex and they truly are happy with them what right does anyone have to deny them that happiness? Gays don't bother me and in a lot of cases I like them because their fun to hang around because around where I live their generally a happier and nicer group of people.

 

I was in a large department store recently that didn't accept gays.

Visa or Mastercard only, they said.
