What are your guesses as to the new ipod that is supposed to be revealed today? Some say its going to be an iphone nano, others say an iphone-ish interface ipod. Im guessing that its a touchscreen ipod

I used all my allocation of guesses up today Viper, but I would likely say your right they may go for a iPhone look possibly.

Anyone else excited about the new lineup? The new 8GB touch is perfect for me! I have a lot of music but I don't listen to all of it, all the time, so some playlists, a few videos, I'll be set! And my birthday is Sept 15th, so PERFECT timing! :-D Too bad they ship the 28th, but I can wait!

And here I was all excited that I got an IPod Mini with 4gig of space. Since my Palm got took, I found out I can keep all my contacts and calendar on it too :)

I love technology. Of course, it only plays music, but hey, who am I to complain, it was free.

Looks hideous, just like an iPhone.

Shame Apple can't think of something new.

However I like the redesign of the video and the nano.

I think it looks pretty cool, I'm just worried about how fragile it will be. If I had an iphone Im afraid I would tear up the screen when its in my pocket.

If it is anything like the former iPods they are pretty tough. I dropped a 10lb weight on mine at the gym....it dented the frame a little but it all still works really well :D

For $10 more you could have ordered one of the new ones that came out yesterday with 80GB of storage! Expect the 30GB and 60GB 5G iPods to drastically drop in price.

Yeah! I personally don't like the new ones, the touch screen mess. You know how dirty those things will get with fingers touching all over it all the time?

I want one that I can plug into my adapter and listen to in my truck. The 30GB is perfect for that because all of my songs fit on it.

I'm going to order 2 more for Christmas but I will wait a little bit to see if the price will drop.

Yup, thats the one. More than double the storage for just another ten bucks.

The one from Newegg I bought was the newer one though, correct? I'm not talking about the touch screen, I don't want that one. The "classic" is the 80GB for $249?

If that's true I'm glad I went with the newer one because I've went thru about 3 of the classics, they just quit working. The SanDisk mp3 players are a joke, you can't keep those things working.

The one you linked to from newegg was the older 5th generation, 30GB model thats been about for abut a year and a half. Apple released the 6th generation of them the other day and renamed them the 'iPod Classic." The new classics, are the ones with 80GB or 160GB. The 80GB Classic that was released the other day is the iPod that is only $10 more than the 5th Generation iPod that you linked to at newegg. The touch screen iPods are more expensive and have less storage, but they are different from the ones linked here

    Congrats on 13,000 posts!

The 6th generation iPods come in a new metal shell, while the older ones were plastic. They're also smaller, more light weight, new sliver or black finish (no more white) has a newer user interface with cover flow, added storage capacity, and probably a bunch of stuff I'm leaving out. Apple should have a ton of information on their website as well. Hope it works out for ya!

    Thanks! :major

Sweet! I am looking forward to getting it and playing with it.

I just sent back my SanDisk 4GB (Sansa e260), those things are ok when they're working but keeping them working is the job.
