Not a "Opera" fan myself Bill, but the man had one heck of a set of pipes, have one of the "Three Tenors" tapes kicking around somewhere in my music collection, have to dig it out and give it a listen to again. And your right he will be missed he was definitely an "Operatic Character", and probable did more than most Opera stars to popularize Opera.

Mum always has been a great Opera fan and always enjoyed Pavarotti...he was a very personable character that complimented his wonderful talent...he will be missed. Thanks for the Post Bill.

(By the way, hope you're doing well and not trying any more new things, don't go doing yourself any further damage Matey!)

I'm not a fan of opera either but I could at least listen to him as opposed to others. He opened the door for the 'regular' folk to enjoy it.

I too, am not really an opera fan-boy (though I do like classical instrumental), but it is indeed a sad loss to the operatic community.

He knew he had pancreatic cancer for some time, and characteristically took it all with a positive outlook and good grace. The body is gone, but the works are immortal.

I'm not a fan of opera, at all . . . but the fact I nonetheless know who he was and what he was famous for speaks volumes as to his talent in the venue.

    Godspeed, Pavarotti

I like opera very much. Though I have never payed much attention to his work, I'm sure this is a great loss for all people. He was a great singer

Not my scene that opera stuff, but Pavarotti was a legend at singing and a gentleman too.
