Why does my PC keep trying to contact barefruit.co.uk

I just have a quick question which hopefully has a quick and simple answer.

Over the last few weeks I've noticed that every couple of minutes Zonealarm prevents an attempt made by my computer to access wr.eu.barefruit.co.uk. There can be as many as a couple of hundred outbound attempts logged everyday. Zonealarm blocks it every time and its listed as a medium threat so I'm not too concerned, however it bugs me that I don't know whats causing it!. It still appears to happen even while I'm not running any programs and I don't see where its coming from??.

Can anyone tell me what this is and how I can stop it?. It never used to happen until recently. I'm very careful with internet security and run the following programs Zonealarm, AVG, Spybot, and Spyware Blaster. None of which have shown any problems since this barefruit thing appeared. I use XP SP2 and the newest versions of Firefox/Thunderbird. My ISP is Tiscali if that helps any.

Just taking a wild guess here ... It's a DNS Enhancing Service provided by Tiscali. If you ask them to stop it, they will. Unfortunately, you may not be able to use the internet anymore.

Thanks for the quick response!. Looks like you're right, I'll send an opt out email to customer support and see if it stops. I hate my ISP :boxing.

 

All ISP's have their moments! LOL
I hope you have success with the opt-out and that that will solve the problem!
