Today for no reason at all my media hotkey buttons stopped working, I use to be able to play, pause, skip, go back, and stop while listening to media monkey, now I cannot.
All I was doing was moving the task bar. Also certain disabled startup programs began to reactivate without any authorization. Also, for some reason it locked all my desktop icons so I could not move them.
Now the internet, and "Media Center" buttons are still functional. I really don't know what caused this but it's pretty annoying, since I really didn't change or do anything. Accept update NoScript, on FireFox... Thats it.
Here is a picture of what my laptop looks like. http://www.irisvista.com/tech/lapto.../Toshiba-Satellite-A105-screen-removal-00.jpg
    Thanks for your help..

Go to start-programs and look for toshiba, they have an application reinstall. reinstall the program for hotkeys, it will take it back like before. ed

Umm.. I did that and it still doesn't work, it won't even work with windows media player. When I go to the Toshiba Hotkey Utility all i get is a window that says...

Display a standby confirmation message if fn+f3 is pushed

Display a HIbernation confirmation message if Fn+f4 is pushed

it also has two check boxes in fount of each line.

Go to system restore and do a restore from yesterday or a few days before this happened. ed

Oh, by the way, go to start, all programs, accessories, system tools, system restore. Restore my computer to a earlier time and pick a date. ed

Ok, somehow the problem corrected itself... Please direct me to a place that can tell me how to configure system restore.. This is still the weirdest computer problem ever, all the problems slowly resolved automatically.

I've been here less than two weeks - give me a little time! I'll get it but this site is huge and I can't learn everything in under two weeks.
