    Hello,
I recently installed pc-cillin. At some point during the set-up, I was prompted to uninstall spybot search and destroy due to some kind of conflict?! The trouble is, that I really like spybot search and destroy. As a matter of fact, I downloaded it when I had trouble with malware a couple years ago and you guys bailed me out by providing links to excellent free software (like spybot) that helped me rid my previous computer of a nasty virus. I think spybot may be able to catch some things that pc-cillin misses.
Anyway, I recently tried to reinstall spybot and had trouble when it triggered my computer to connect to the net. I really don't remember having to do that the last time I installed spybot???? Is that related to this "conflict" I was warned about when I installed pc-cillin?
Also, can you suggest some settings for pc-cillin. I get this annoying box that pops up repeatedly and asks if it is ok to allow a cookie. While trying to get to you guys, the dumb thing asked if it was ok to allow a cookie from majorgeeks as well as this forum. The box appeared at least half a dozen times or more. Also, it seemed like I had a lot of trouble getting to different internet sites when I had all the settings for spyware/virus detection enabled???
    Can you help, please?

There shouldn't be any conflicts, they are two different programs that targets two different forms of malware.

What messages are you getting? Can you attach some screenshots?

Also, be sure you have the latest version of Spyboy, SpyBot-Search & Destroy Tools 1.5.1.15.

    bjgarrick's reply

bjgarrick, when I click on the link that was emailed to me when you responded, the loading bar only gets about halfway and then stops.
I will try to reinstall spybot again and carefully note the error message for you. I will see if I can get a screen shot as well. And thank-you for replying so quickly!

Not a problem, I also merged your post so please post in here from now on instead of creating new threads.
