Segway centaur

Just saw this on TV

never seen the 4 wheel model, that is cool, with hot price tags huh?

 

not sure, hopefully BM can elaborate, as far as I know it is/was just a concept.

Where i saw it on TV they gave a lot more info

costs 5 cents to recharge the battery, not sure how far that gets you though

they had some 2 wheelers that were set up for off-roading, police, golf clubs etc.

Only place I've even seen a segway before was on 'Arrested development'

 

If I remember correctly it was around $16,000 the first time I saw the 2 wheel one.

I have seen people with segways before, and it just smacks of having way too much money to me.

The Centaur is a concept vehicle in the truest sense of the word. There is no plan to ever put it into production.

 

I could see the 4-wheeler having some potential in the cities, but I guess this comment from the link i posted sums it all up fairly well

I could see it used for Police/EMS useage, but otherwise, yeah, a rich man's baby carriage.

The whole idea has a lot of potential, that one goes a lot of places where a normal wheelchair would not go easily

 

I think they had something similar on one of those prime time news shows a year or so ago. It was a wheel chair that would go up on 2 wheels so that the wheeler would be up on everyone else's level instead of looking at everyone's backside (Of course, if you are a perv in a chair, why bother )
