Daylight saving hits Aiustralia, again.

Daylight saving has started again in Australia, this week. :cry

Tasmania, our most Southern state, wound the clocks back an hour over this weekend. Balance of the States and Territories (except Queensland, where I live) start at the end on October I believe.

Queensland's just elected new Premier(Anna Bligh) came out in support of outback Queenslanders and those in North Queensland and stated emphatically that NO daylight saving for Queensland whilst she is the boss. :major

Southern Queenslanders, particularly those from the Gold Coast area, really have their knickers in a knot over this decision.

Why they can't just open their businesses up an hour earlier, and close an hour earlier for the same effect, beats the hell outta me. :confused

They could also dodge most of the traffic both ways, that way.

Congrats Anna. Soon to be nicknamed Captain Bligh, I guess.

PS: Forgot to mention that I will receive an hour less "Prime time" from my Sothern bases ISP provider. My plan gives me 1 gig from 7am to midnight and 2 gigs from midnight to 7am, DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME, unfortunately.

 

Gotta say I'm all for it, simply because it confuses the heck out of them pesky Vampires :eek

 

This is new to Australia? We'll be rolling back an hour also the end of this month.

 

It comes and goes

The 'more rural' states like Queensland and Western Australia have constant issues with it because:
"It bleaches the curtains"
and
"The dairy cows don't know when to come in to be milked"
