Thanks, You are helping SO MUCH.. start up problem now

Hello out there. Your forums have helped me fix (well - getting there) my comp (XPHome sp2). It was one step away from the dustbin....Had a very bad malware infection, after running all the scans etc, it appears clean but slow. Next problem start up. I switch on,l walk the dog, make coffee then perhaps it is "open". Then I usually get lots of Not Responding messages. Using Firefox, I keep disabling IE bit it keeps coiming back and opening at will. I have got a log of the statup I just did. I was running Spybot. Anyone help me again . Thanks.:wave

 

are you sure you are malware free? did you post the results of the scans you did in the malware forum?

If your computer ran faster before getting infected with the malware, it's possible that it is only an appearance of being clean, rather than a fact and you need some help from the malware guys to get rid of stuff completely. I can see that you haven't posted in the malware forum here, so unless you have had an expert from somewhere else take a look and pronounce you clean, let these guys have a look - they're very good.

Go right through all the pre-steps (link: READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide) and then post the logs they ask for and see what they say. Also, they may have you do some overhauling of your system to repair damage that malware has done. So if you still have them, hang onto any logs that you have created so far so they can have a look if they want to and see what malware you had. When you're ready, the Malware forum is here.
