Identified as a spam site but definitely not!

Ok, I looked through other threads and I can't find this exact problem. It seems that somehow I've been identified as a spam site. In trying to send a message to a friend (one whom I've been emailing for weeks with no problem), suddenly all my mail starts coming back with this message, "5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550-'5.2.1 Mail from 143.69.250.38 refused: spam site." I tried from my yahoo, sbcglobal, msn, and gmail addresses, all with the same result. Figuring it was my laptop, I tried from my home PC and still got that message. So far, this has only happened in communication with one address which is a military address (@us.army.mil). My friend did get an email I sent to his yahoo address. I hope this is enough information. I don't know what else to tell you. Thanks for any help you can give.

    Hi Beachlvr!
    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Why do you think the problem is yours and not his? Is the message coming from your internet service provider? It sounds like your e-mails are being rejected by his military address, something which he would need to clear up, not you.

I thought it was his server at first. What made me wonder if it was my computer was that it returned everything from every email address I have so I figured it wasn't just the email address because it was rejecting email addresses that it had never seen before. But I have an update, I got an error message when I started my computer today, and my computer also shut down unexpectedly once; however, my emails are getting through again. So I think I may still have a problem but I have no clue what to tell you anymore. I think I will have to wait and see if anything else suspicious happens. I have Trend Micro Virus protection which automatically runs sweeps every few days and I also ran the Ad Aware (Lavasoft) program yesterday. Nothing but the normal looking cookies shows up. I'm pretty careful online so don't think I've pick up anything. I guess I'll add more or start a new thread if anything else happens.

    Thanks,

The reason I still think it is his problem and not yours is because all your e-mail addresses are being rejected by one military address. It sounds like they are blocking your IP address or a block of IP addresses from your area. They do that. It may have nothing to do with you personally whatsoever.

Unusual behavior and unexpected shutdowns can be related to malware. It can also be two completely different things going on that have nothing to do with each other. If you have time and want to go through our standard cleaning procedures at your leisure, I'll post you the link and you can see if anything is found. Also, you might find a few extra pieces of information in our "How to protect yourself from malware" thread. Here are those two links:
