My New 8GB SD card won't recognize no matter were I insert it!

I connect my 1GB SD card to my USB adapter and it works great. I updated to a larger card (8GB) and it doesn't work at all and will not recognize at all. I cant even get a read so I can format the thing. Gosh this is so frustrating.

 

I had this same problem about a year ago, but with a 2GB card and it worked out to be the drivers for my onboard card reader. I had to find the brand of the card reader and download new drivers and that worked. It now reads them all.

I don't know if that is your problem, but you could give it a try.

You might also try using it in a digital camera, which is what I use instead of a card reader.
