OMG had to be the 70's look at that carpet LOL

 

I wish I had a size comparison photo for one of my mother's cats. He is 25 pounds.

And he has lost weight

I used to have a 42 pound half feral cat out at the farm but we had to put him down. He was the size of a small dog for sure.

 

I love animals and that shepard looks alot like my friends dog. Although I dont care for dogs, my friends' dog is so sweet and lovable... he might just change my mind

Big cat small dog we would have company over and the cat would walk by they had the same reaction as you, some would jump up. Lots of fur too.
Think the dog was part coyote she barked funny. Smart!!!!!! miss her the cat too. :cry :cry

Yep he's an Australian Shepard! almost a year old too.

 

Huge cat Darlene! Beautiful though.

Miss my dog...she and my current cat got on well...when my previous cat (Hadji Baba) died, (put down at home due to fatal illness), she let out such a howl the moment breathe left Hadji's body...got us all going, including the vet and his assistant.

I brought home current cat (Amon Ra) two weeks later because I couldn't stand Aleta's constant whimpering at the loss of our wonderful companion Hadji.

Then when the dog became gravely ill (at almost 16 yrs) and we had her put down at home, Amon Ra wouldn't leave her side until she was taken away. Amazing how close animals can get to each other. They really are part of our family.

How sad how sweet, animals are amazing, deeper then most people I believe.

Yes. I used to softly sing that song to my Hadji and he loved me doing it...he would snuggle up, purr like crazy and gaze up at me with those wonderful green eyes in acknowledgement. Sooooo miss him.:cry Then I look at my Amon Ra...though different, he has his own wonderfulness about him also.

 

They are all special in their own way

 

I had the same thought. I have a Tortoiseshell coloured cat (blackish, multi-coloured thing), and she certainly rules the roost here. Sleeping across my feet, in front of the heater as I type. But she is my best friend. :cool

no, they ate pigs. or at least piglets. that is why we had to put them down. Every time one of those cats ate a piglet, it was like throwing a $100 US bill in the garbage.

 

That was the Lincoln/Mercury cougar I still can't believe I let my daughter that close, my heart was pounding like mad, it had a real short chain hard to see.

I have two blue merles and both have one blue eye. They are Niles and Fraser. Fraser chases the bulls in the pasture. He grabs them by the tail and when they start running across an irrigated pasture it looks like he is water skiing. What they really like to do is eat live gophers.(and fresh mountain oysters)

 

Yes it is they referred to it as the Lincoln Mercury Cougar. It was their icon for years in ads and commercials. That was at a shopping mall about 1975.

Lovely cats...I once had a white cat (who had one blue eye and one green eye), whom we called "Sheik" (because he was as amourous as oneLOL)

Cats don't need to do much to set off our cuteness nerves, people, on the other hand, usually have to work at it. That said, that is one cute picture. Though it's hard to top Wenchie's at the start of the thread.

 

He gets along well with the dog. He occasionally slaps her to let her know who is top dog or is that cat? LOL

We have a number of wild life societies that take in injured wildlife and nurse them back to health before releasing them (some set them up in sanctuaries if they cannot return to a "normal" state). You should have the same there.


But I kinda reckon you really took to that little critter

 

Reckon I'll come back as a Kestrel and hang around your back door with a woefull look on my face dangling my wing at you

 

The cats are adorable, Darlene, and lovely birds, Emma. It's good to see that you're able to give them a good home when they get hurt in the wild. I would like to learn how to rescue injured animals some day too, although it's more likely I'll end up bringing a stray to an animal shelter than taking it home with me. It's just not feasible for me right now.

As for "dangling a wing at you", given what you're offering, it's a toss up between coming back as a Kestrel and hanging around your back door and coming back as my cat.

 

Yeah, I know a few humans that name would apply too, as well. rolleyes LoL

I had a Budgerigar, a Cockatiel, two Pink & and Grey Galahs, and a Carrier Pigeon - all of which got adopted as strays. Nowadays, I just have the Parakeet (blue Budgie, thingy).
