Any apps that let me start up the comp with another button?

My power button has gone kaputt, and it's just a matter of time before the connectors will be too worn out, making it impossible to start up my computer... Unless, of course, there's a way to make it power on with another button. Any apps that let me assign, say, spacebar to the 'power on' command? Or maybe it's possible to fix within Windows? I'm using XP Home.

I'm using an USB keyboard, and I don't seem to have the option anyways.

Any other suggestions? One would think that this wouldn't be too much of a hazzle...

 

If you don't have the option in your BIOS, you cannot use the keyboard for power on/off. Sorry If your case has a reset button, you can re-route it to use it as the power button by simply unplugging the power button from the motherboard header, and plugging the reset button into the on/off header. You'll probably want to look thru the motherboard manual first to be sure of what header is where so you're familiar with what you'll see once you've opened up the PC's case.....
