This is an unbelievable video that a 15 year old girl put together.
    (sound on)
The following is the hottest thing on the internet and on Fox News today. Lizzie Palmer who put this YouTube program together is 15 years old. There have been over 3,000,000 hits as of this morning. In case you missed it, here it is.

PLEASE SEND IT TO ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS. ALL OF OUR ENEMIES COULD USE IT, TOO.

I didn't write any of the above, just passing it on. The video really pretty good, if it was done by a 15 year old as is suggested we will be hearing more from her in the future.

I am just lost for words....:(

We forget all the sacrifices all too easily as we get wrapped up in our own lives.

Oh my gosh that video made me want to cry so bad.

I have a friend going to Iraq in feb. and I support him whole heartedly but even if I didnt know anyone, I'd still always support the troops. It bothers me something fierce as people talk bad about them when they are unselfishly giving their lives for our freedom.

I hate the war, and all it stands for, but never our troops. They deserve all our admiration, applause, and support. Even though many of them also disagree with this ware (Iraq), they are out there doing their best, and in some cases, dying because of it.

When it was Viet Nam my Dad was one of those troops. Hopefully we have learned some things (though truth to tell, I didn't understand peoples reactions at the time toward the troops). The damn politicians got a pass on that one, lets keep their feet to the fire and keep em honest this time. Some of them (politicians) are in a difficult position because they can't do anything without cutting funding. In this case we need to spend the money, because it is going towards putting armor on Humvee and similar problems. It is definitely a quandary.

Dyamond, your friend, what branch of the service are they in? The ones in the field (well, all of them actually) need the letters and contact with home more than anything. I've already sent several goody bags to a friends son who is a marine, I understand he doles them out to the other guys and eats most of them himself. Jerky and Slim Jims is my contribution, the guys in combat sometimes don't have a chance to eat regular when it gets tense, so the portable snacks that travel well are always appreciated. Other favorites included Gold Bond powder and handy wipes, during the hellish Iraq summer they are a godsend.

I saw the clip a few months ago, very emotional,to be honest though I havnt seen any demonstrations or act of vengeance against the troops as in the vietnam war I think we have leant alot and most of us now understand the troops dont get to choose where they go,whenever a demonstration againt the war has taken place it has been made clear the troops are still loved,if there have been many demonstrations against the troops I dont know about I'll stand corrected.

Heres a clip I posted a while back in the same vein for newer members who didnt see it.

My friend is an Army MP, he was supposed to be going to Afghanistan but they needed more MPs in Iraq. When my best friends brother was in Iraq, we were constantly sending him letters and care packages of things he both needs and what he wanted usually sending enough for his buddies too. The second time (he did 2 tours) he actually WANTED to go back, said the people there were just like us and most of them were very grateful. You dont hear much about that in the media.

I support our troops, human rights for every living soul, I don't dare view the video though, quit watching the news (it made me cry) That is the reason I am so anti war, the lose of lives, limbs, heart.
I have been watching the affects of war from a child, my grandfather (raised me), the death and torture camps from the second, on and on, I just pray for it to stop. :(

I do believe we've learned our lessons on this one, and needed to. Like I said, I think the polititions got a bye on that war where they shouldn't have, and the troops took the brunt of the negative feelings. Being a military brat, I would have gotten into a fight if someone had been so crass as to say something about my dad at the time. I do know Vietnam changed him for the worse, many scars can't be seen. Like many vets, he couldn't or wouldn't talk about it, but the few stories I heard were bad enough.

Speaking of Dad, I went to the viewing this morning. Never looked worse, but the funeral director did his best. I'm looking at the crying icon off to the side, somehow it just doesn't seem strong enough.

I actually saw this clip awhile ago. I loved it and of course it made me cry my eyes out. People need to remember our troops and all that they do give up. I am one to know, my husband is one of them. He has given up the one thing that no man should ever have to give up (being their for the birth of his child) just to serve his country. Thanks for posting this, it reminds me that people do knotice our troops

Very nice video. A few years ago, my Uncle died. He was a POW in Korea. It took a lot of work, but a military funeral was done. I still left sad, but damn I left proud.

If I am not getting it wrong, there are 13 folds on the flag, each meaning something. Powerful stuff.

My Dad couldn't be there for Mom when I was born. Top it off, the base hospital was full, so they sent her to a Medical Center/school, where they dang near killed her and I. I don't remember whether he was able to be there for my brother or not.
