Deleting a file ???

    I delete a file from the My Documents folder a legitimate Microsoft Word file, and the computer puts a copy of it back into that location.

    Why is my PC doing this ?

    Why would read only not let you delete a file ?

    Read Only attribute won't stop deletion, just modifications.

    Interesting issue going on here, never heard of the Word preference (not to say it isn't there).

    Purely hypothetical situation, but if one was to, say...keep a copy of said word doc in C:\windows\system32\dllcache, it should reproduce such behavior. Perhaps you have a file monitoring program that is reinstating it as its deleted? There are a few out there that do such things.
