The purpose of this exersize , is pretty much too look at other peoples desks. Well - its something to do.

Plus im buying a new desk , and before I buy one , I would like to see a few in there natural habitat , yeah , cluttered and messy , with spilt coffee, papers and hardware everywhere.

    Just so Iget some ideas.

I would take a picture of mine , but I seem to be somewhat lacking in the desk department.

    ..go!

I've got the desk - if you've got the camera ;)

Best desk ive had (in storage at the moment :() is a house door mounted on a chest of draws and a 'student' desk - nice and large (cheap too ;))
Plenty of room for everything including at least 10 coffee cups, miscellaneous cd's etc

The reason I ask is , I want plenty of room , and also plenty of room for my 22" pebble monitor :D

Room for coffee cups , papers , games , ash tray , fags and stuff a plenty , but I want it too look nice as well , and not too many shelves.:(

My desk is looking a bit worse for wear, I built it when we moved into this house about 3 years ago, the office is due for redecoration! (Well, after the kitchen, bedroom and hallway!:D)

The monitors are wall mounted on a custom bracket, gives me more desk space to make a mess of, this is extraordinarily tidy for me. The two side monitors do come out from the wall so they are all facing toward me.

The shuttle type PC on the left does not normally live there, it will move back to the living room once I put the new TV card in it.

Oh, and I did tidy the cables a while back, pulled out everything that wasn't used!

Usually developing software or websites, code on one, results on one and help files / Majorgeeks on one.

OK, OK, surfing and watching videos at the same time. :D

Old computer, old monitor, old desk. Things have changed more than I thought around this important corner of my home... I'll see if I can get a more updated version at some point...

It's a bit dark as I had to use my older digi cam (new one was in the front of the house and my office is in the back) I'll try for a better one later, but you can still see that I love my clutter, and that is the MG screen on the one monitor, the other just ahs the wallpaper up, not doing much but surfing before work this morning :)

@ Halo - I have that mouse mat!!!! Also, is the Vista keyboard any good, worth the money and does it work with XP? I only ask because my Logitech one is coming to the end of it's life :(

Hi McA, yeah the mat is an oldie isnt it!

Yes the Microsoft 8000 Bluetooth KB and mouse are good, neato gimmic is that when you get close to the KB and the room is dark it lights up the keys.... battery life is very good, its very light and the mouse is weighted really well, kinda heavy but I like it that eay feels more accurate.

Only downside for some is that unless you dont mind the laptop KB feel to the keys then your not going to like it and at £150 its expensive to not like the feel of the keys, there is a slightly cheaper but not backlit KB and Mouse inthe Wireless 7000 version.

I do like it and a bonus is that the charger hub has 4 USB ports built in, so that comes in very handy.

Yes it works with XP SP2 http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/productdetails.aspx?pid=080

@Lev .... LMAO, steady on now.. not many folk get to see my time machine ;)

@Kes... oh not good on the ciggy burns :(

Having a bit of fun with my new camera...

Note the 'Belgium Lace' on the glass on the laptop... Lappy is a borg for now, kinda a hassle if I need to scan anything.

    Have a good one.

WOW Fred, from the foam on the glass it would appear you made short work of the brew.

    I'm jealous.....

@ Kes... yeah, I love running dual monitors. If I had the $$, I would likely be running a half dozen LCD's all mounted up on a rack in front of the desk, but unfortunately, the hair business is not all that good.

If I can locate another PCI vid card laying around my office, I will likely have the 3rd monitor up and running to really mess with my m8 :)
