Outlook Express/SPAMfighter

    Not sure if this belongs here or in the software forum where I have also posted it. In any event, I recently got a prompt from Outlook Express to load an updated version. I did so and shortly thereafter noticed that my SPAMfighter Toolbar was missing along with some other problems with SF. I deleted and installed another version which solved the problem, but I'm wondering if that Outlook update was malware.

    From what you posted ...I doubt it was malware ..however, not knowing what you downloaded, I can't say.

    Thanks for the response. I was just wondering if perhaps anyone else experienced this.

    What I remember was a pop up prompt on my desktop from Outlook Express advising of an updated version and the benefits therein. That is about it. Perhaps something else screwed up my SPAMfighter but that would be quite a coincidence I think.

    Hummm....the update could have not been compatible with spamfighter ...or it could have been a spyware/virus attempt ....hard to say. Have you read this:

    Yes, and my system, XP Pro, SP2, seems to operate normally. I have installed, and followed, the recommended software from Chas' write up.
