Im trying to run an IPX game through my wireless router with another computer in the house. (D-Link) But when i try to connect to the game the computer cant find it. Both computers are running Windows XP, so same protocols. Any advice? Do i need to change some settings from the standard ones? (Sorry new at this) (Our connections once worked with the original Age of Empires but never again)

Sorry i guess i didn't clarify properly, i do have IPX installed just when i try to join the game it is unable to join(I do see the game though). My firewalls all allow it, so i dont think it's being blocked. Any suggestions?

Actually im sure your firewalls are setup right, but first thing i suggest is disabling em completly to test it. Many firewalls are confusing and have problems even when setup properly, ran into that yesterday when work with norton at a location.

Okay im about to try that, but just was trying to test the games and i think maybe my wireless internet doesn't work properly. The one wireless internet computer connecting to the wireless router can view the game created, meanwhile the one that runs through LAN (and i think also wireless) and the host or main computer cant even see the game created. Do you think i dont have a properly set up network...or create a new small office network? (So both can receive eachother's games, maybe thats why its unable to join?)

If they have internet your tcp/ip portion is setup correctly, which generally indicts no problems with the network setup. Might try hooking up manually via ethernet on both pcs.

I dont know if im understanding you correctly but because of the wireless their on different levels of the house so any manual connections wouldn't be the greatest way. (If im wrong with the cables tell me) Do you know of any other issues that could cause this, or just the turn off the firewall idea?
