help with partitioning hard drive.

Hi!!..
Theanswer to my query is probably somewhere in here, but ill ask anyway..takes a deep breath....
..O.k I am running windows XP home with service pack 2 on my laptop.
I installed windows fresh but when I set it up I didn't partition it as I thought I could do it later, so I only have one partition that is 93.15Gb.
Under the disk management it reads: volume, c:, layout: partition, type: basic, file system: NTFS, capacity: 93.15, free space: 89.69, and status is healthy.
I would like to partition it so that my OS is separated from other files eg: work files, games, and other programs one installs for the hell of it!!, I have been trying to figure out how to partition/ create a drive D:?? but to no avail there are so many programs out there that i have gotten all confuzzled.
(you may have guessed i am basically computer illiterate)
Can any of you help on how to and or a program i could download (prefer a freebie)to resize the hard drive????.

Have patience! You just need for someone with the relevant experience to find the time to donate to your problem. (maybe they'll stop by after work) Since this is an all-volunteer forum, it may take awhile, but someone will be along!

 

lol no worries Mada_Milty....I've been on this for 3 days and its made me insane..I haven't slept all night... I am just eager to get it all sorted....you know the feeling...your 5 and its xmas morning an you can't wait to rip prezzies open lol...maybe a jog, coffee, shower and ill check back..cheers
