    I don't have either, but I would refuse a 360 even as a gift.

the company bought 3 xBox 360's to give away in a raffle. All three where shot right out of the box.

    The 360. That's not even a choice.

There are several sites quoting approx. 33% failure rate on 360s.

    Garbage, garbage, garbage.

I literally do not know one person who has not had their 360 into a repair center. Microsoft didnt up the warranty to three years because of a quality product, they did it to save face in light of all the hardware failures.

The Wii. That's not even a choice. :D
I'm really sick of the shoot-em-ups that seems to be all Xbox wants to offer. Especially Halo - in terms of shooter games, the glory it receives is like awarding valedictorian to a remedial student.

Halo is a good game, but it is a FPS. Saying that a FPS is a great game is like trying to polish a turd, you only get so far.

I disagree. I say Halo is a grossly underpar FPS. There's FAR, FAR better out there, but Halo has all the limelight.

But, I do agree with your sentiments on the FPS genre as a whole.

Apples and oranges - Do you want to be waving your arms around while you play a videogame, or not? Personally, I prefer neither platform, having had some experience with both. Seems to me they’re vying for different market areas, anyway.

I know, I nearly hit my friend's wife in the mouth, trying to play Baseball on the Wii. :D

Which one you like depends on what you want to use it for, and what kinds of games you prefer. That aside, if I've ever seen a post designed to start a flame war on MGs, this one is it. Why do you even want to know, and what was the point of even asking anyway?

Xbox 360 or PS3 for that matter are great if you want high end graphical games.... no matter what genre.

Wii is great for some quick fun and excersise if you dont mind the graphics being very nintendo style cartoony, I have to say I love the games and as a bit of a party games machine its great fun.

Halo the game is OK its not the best but its a classic.

The 360 provides top end gaming and a great entertainment solution in one. The Wii is brilliant for easy gaming and having fun.

I have a 360 and it's a brilliant system (had to be sent off for repair once) and I thoroughly love it.

Does the XBox have a built in browser? The Wii does.

    Just curious.

Nope, something they stupidly didn't put in. There have, however, been rumours of M$ bringing out an update to add it.

Yeh but they were very quick with the turn around and gave me an extra free month of xbox live.

Oooo, 10 dollars in return for not having built a quality product in the first place. Nice to know your loyalty comes so cheap. :D

I have heard horror stories of xBox repairs.

wii. Ease of use and stability (so far, anyway . . . lol).

I actually prefer to play games on my PC . . . not used a 360, but my eldest son has one and seems happy with it. My wife wanted the wii. I think I have used it more then all the other game consoles I've used in the past combined!

I was a bit peeved about the cost of the RJ-45 adapter you have to buy to hardwire the thing to the internet, but other then that I'm pleased with the device.

Once in a blue moon my Wii will lock up while playing boxing... only seen it happen twice, and only requires a power cycle, but can anyone comment if system updates would address this sort of issue?

I have 2 kids under 11 years old, we have a Wii. It is a blast, even though there are not a lot of games taking advantage of it's unique gameplay. I would say if you have younger kids get the Wii, if you have older kids get the Xbox. If it is just for you, go look at the games and pick based on what you want to play. Still, the adults in the family spend plenty of time playing the Wii and it has been a great source of family laughter and memories.

The Wii does tend to stop up on occasion, both in the midst of a gaming session, once during RE4, once during MP3. Both, fortunately, were just after save points. And a simple power cycle, even if it had to be done from the console, and not off the Wiimote fixed it both times.

The Wii does have quite a few cool games, while the 360 has Mass Effect.

Don't like the Wii controls, I used to Playstations, Xboxes, Ninetendos and Computers, not a Remote Control (Which I get enough cr@p from being that we have a Plasma TV).

We have both. It all depends on what you want to do. The wife just bought WII. She was tired of me gaming on my 360 & laptop while she watches TV. Now the whole family plays together & no one is left out plus it’s a lot of exercise while having fun. But if you’re playing by yourself most of the time I would go for the 360. I find you have better response & accuracy using the 360 controller plus if you don’t want move around like animal & just lay back & relax stick with the 360. Plus it’s pretty hard to keep your beer in you mug than on the floor playing WII :D. Whichever you chose you’ll have a blast with both

360 - I've had mine since launch day with no problems what so ever (same as two friends of mine). I have a great library of games sitting on my desk and I stream all my media content to it through Vista. It's a powerful gaming system, add live and you're set for a good time. I will be picking up a Wii sometime in the future as soon as I can get a lime green one. :D

Anupu: I know what you mean, it does seem silly at first, especially with the exaggerated control scheme that commercials and such feature. While Wii Sports does take advantage of those, if you sit down for RE4, or MP3, you'll find that you can use arm and wrist to move the entire cursor. You'll completely forget that it is motion sensitive. It's completely natural. Stand up and you're in for a world of annoyance. Especially trying to play shooters like MP3.

360 is boring. At least in comparison to the way the Wii draws you into the gaming experience.

IMO Wii is showing a new way of controlling games, that is if they haven't gotten it locked down with patents. Of course, we'll be seeing Wii Wii soon (don't get me started on the juvinale jokes I've already heard about Wii). You put a console with that name in a group of teens and their bound to happen.

Also make sure you try it out on a DLP projector, my buddy had it on the other day, and the pictures were amazing, no motion blur, and colors were amazing....at least for the Xbox, graphics were sweeet....

Wii is currently out of stock in most parts of Europe apart from Berlin so we've been told on the BBC news :eek

No, I just don't like the adjustment I'd have to make, it seems like going from XP to an Apple OS. And for what? I only care about two things, game selection and the controls and there aren't that many good games out there anyway, all of which could probably be found on both systems. I just want to play games I like the way I've played them for years.

Hmm. There still seems to be quite a few here in Perth (West Aust.). On special now actually, for about $450(AUD), with some kind of games pack for Christmas.

I've been rockin' a 360 for over a year now and no hardware problems, glitches or bugs. I even bought it used :) Hopefully I'm getting a Wii sometime in the next month, my boss just bought 5 of them to give away in a contest at work :)
