Special procedure for IE Defender?

    Hello
My daughter's spanking new computer is infected with IE Defender, and I just about started the Read and Run Me Procedure. But I noticed that it wasn't listed in your Add/Remove Programs list, though it appears in that list on her computer. Any reason?

I found a special removal procedure called fixIED.reg on another site, and was tempted to try it before doing your Read and Run Me. Anyone had any experience with fixIED.reg? I've come to rely on majorgeeks and am afraid to download any ol' fixit software that doesn't appear here.

Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks! --alchemilla

Been too busy with more important tools to update the list recently, but it would not uninstall properly anyway. Also we have a tool that removed all of it. Here is what you need.

This tool removes IE Defender and the associated Trojan.Downloader.Delf infection.
    1. Download FixIEDef.zip by ShadowPuterDude to the Desktop.
    2. Double-click FixIEDef.zip, this will create a folder named FixIEDef on your Desktop.
    3. Double-click of the FixIEDef folder.
    4. Locate FixIEDef.bat and double-click on it.
    5. FixIEDef will now run.
    6. Press any key to close the CMD Console when the script is finished.
Note: process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool". It is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Thanks Chaslang (Charles?)! I knew you'd know what to do.

Any of those other final procedures required now? Toggle System restore or something? Otherwise I will install a realtime blocking tool, etc. as described in the other STicky.

    You're welcome.
You should consider running all of the READ & RUN ME just to make sure not other malware is on the PC. After all malware is removed, yes toggling System Restore should be performed.
